‘The Johnny Cash Project’, an idea more than brilliant, set off by Chris Milk, the famous American music video clip director. Fans from all over the world have the opportunity to participate in a great collective art project, a tribute to Johnny Cash, by sharing their own perspective on the artist, through an image that you can edit in different ways on the official website. The images will be then combined into a collective whole: a music video for ‘Ain’t No Grave’, Cash’s final studio recording, dealing heavily with themes of mortality, resurrection, and everlasting life. What is indeed remarkable is the fact that, while new fans will discover and contribute to the project, the video will transform, so there will never be two similar videos. These images will be a homage to the great American music legend, in continuous movement and growth. Also, when your portrait shows in one of the videos your name will be added to the ‘Credit’s section recognizing you as one of its creators. To contribute you don’t need exceptional image editing skills, but just a bit of imagination and creativity..the website takes care of the rest. For those who didn’t discover Johnny Cash yet, the artist is considered one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century. During his career, he combined various music genres, from country and rock and roll, to blues, folk or gospel. Also called ‘The Man in Black’, Cash had a notorious life, screened in 2005 in the film ‘Walk the line’, a real masterpiece worth watching! You can find out more by listening to his amazing music! And if you don’t have time to contribute to one of the amazing projects, at least take a look at some of them in the ‘exlpore’ section of the website: http://www.thejohnnycashproject.com/#! Enjoy!
